Arts Academic Support Community Teen Young Adult

Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI) offers social support and programming for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning youth from all over New York City and the surrounding area. Anyone ages 13 – 24 can become a member for free and take part in programs in academic enrichment, arts and culture, health & wellness, and job readiness, among other areas.

How to Join

To become a member, you can come to the Hetrick-Martin Institute every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday at 3:30pm.

  • If possible, bring a form of ID with your picture and proof of age.
  • To join at another time, make an appointment by calling 212-674-2600 x271
  • After intake, you’ll be invited to New Member Orientation, which happens Wednesdays & Fridays from 4 – 5pm
