Free day trip Parks

Astoria Park is famous for its Olympic-size pool—the oldest and largest in the city. It's also one of the biggest green spaces in Queens! The park has plenty of sports facilities and courts if you're looking to be more active. So take a walk or just relax beside the Hell Gate and RFK bridges.

Highlights

  • Sports: Stay active and take advantage of outdoor tennis courts, a track, trails, basketball courts, playgrounds, and events at the bandstand.
  • Hell Gate & RFK Bridge: Spend the day picnicking or barbecuing beside magnificent views of Hell Gate and Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) bridges.
  • Summer & Year-round Activities: Grab a blanket and hang out under the stars watching movies and concerts. On the 4th of July, witness the sky light up with a spectacular fireworks show. The park often hosts carnivals and festivals so be sure to check out the events calendar!
