The New York Botanical Garden

Free this week Gardens

The New York Botanical Garden, now a National Historic Landmark, is visited by over a million people each year. One of the largest conservation programs in the county, the garden's 250 acres are filled with over a million plants and flowers—and something's in bloom every season. The Botanical Garden is free every Wednesday.

  • World of Plants: Explore the wonders of the garden’s living collections in lush tropical rain forests, cactus-filled deserts, curated displays of palms from around the world, aquatic and carnivorous plants, and much more. See what’s beautiful today.
  • Special Exhibits: Catch a special exhibit! From exotic plants and flowers to the science of botany, there’s always something new. During the holiday season, a model train zips through a display of 150 landmarks, all created out of live plants. See current feature exhibits.
  • Events: Attend a free cooking demonstration or gardening workshop. Walk out with some useful skills and maybe even a green thumb! Check the events calendar.
