If your child has special medical needs, you can get help from the Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) program. CSHCN gives parents information about treatment for their children. You can get help finding health services and insurance, free or low-cost insurance referrals, and community resources.

Who is eligible

Eligible children must:

  • Be 21 years old or younger, have health conditions, and need extra health care and assistance
  • Live in NYC
  • Have been diagnosed with or be suspected to have a serious or chronic health condition, physical disability, or developmental or emotional/behavioral condition
