The New York University (NYU) College and Career Lab is a free five-week summer program for rising 8th and 9th graders in the NYC Metro area. The goal of the Lab is to prepare, support, and inspire students to think about career paths while exposing students to a college campus. The Lab allows students to gain valuable skills that prepare them with opportunities to thrive.

  • Program type: Day camp
  • Cost: Free
  • Who: Rising 8th or 9th graders who go to school in the NYC metro area; the program is meant to serve students who are economically disadvantaged or on track to be the first to attend college in their family (learn more about eligibility)
  • When: 9am – 4pm, Monday – Friday from July 8 to August 9
  • Where: Multiple schools in NYU’s Washington Square Park campus

How to Apply

Fill out the online application (available February 15) by April 15. The application includes:

  • Background Information
  • Short answer/essay questions
  • Household questions
  • A copy of your school transcript
